Default General price for non functional/broken guns

    Hi guys,

I know as a rule of thumb a second hand functional stock gun starts at around 60-70% depending on condition but what would the general price percentage be for a second hand non functional stock gun?

Really hard to say mate, if I had to put a figure on I would say 40%, but there are so many different things that could be causing a gun to not function. The fix could be a 2 spring, or a 40 Hop-Up unit, or even free, and the thing has just been put together wrong by a previous owner. Sometimes people will specifically want to buy a broken gun to scavenge parts from for a repair or project, and in those cases value is very much subjective.
Is there something specific you are looking at buying or selling?

Depends on the working parts, it's better to split it to get a good idea.

One is a CA stoner, it had a stripped piston. Replaced with a SHS 7 steel tooth piston. It cycles fine and everything is pretty smooth, just looks like a major drop in fps so probably a compression issue somewhere.

Other is a G+G Wildhog 9 that fires intermittently and sometimes runs away on full auto. Probably a Mosfet/ETU/trigger issue with that one.

This should probably be in the appraisal section with pictures.

If I was actually looking at selling I would have put it there but I'm just trying to gain some knowledge of the market as I might start buying some non functional rifles

ive bought 2 broken rifs off here. first was a specna SA-H03 basically thats the 416 copy. was mint in the box with firing issues and paid 50 for it. second was a g&p vltor that has gearbox issues and i paid 70 for that. cost me nothing but time to fix as had all the spares. specna was a torn hop rubber and the g&P was a missing tooth on the bevel gear.
