    Default World Cup fever anyone?

I don't know if it's just me or does this World Cup not have the same atmosphere as previous ones?
I walk round London where I'm from and see no flags hanging out of windows like they used too, people all to scared of who will be offended. Why? I would not be offended if any person wants to represent and show support for any country in the World Cup, whatever colour the flag is, it all adds to the atmosphere and friendly banter in my book... Mind you this is England after all lol

I'll end this by wishing our boys the best of luck and let's hope 2014 is the year we bring home the bacon...
Keep the St George flying high

I'm English and proud and if my st George flag offends you then you know what you can do!

I think it's because in years gone by there was that thought that maybe, just maybe we were in with a chance. Now people realise that really we have no chance. Reality has hit home.

We lack the choice because the Premier League has too many foreign players to give a good enough selection and I just don't think we have the fire.

Yh they ain't as exciting as teams that have been in previous world cups... But this can only be a good thing... The favoured team playing crap football only gives us more of chance of bringing football home...

Don't get me wrong, of course I support England but people are just thinking more with their heads rather than their hearts.

I think Netherlands look like they have a strong team, but Spain were rubbish, yesterday they were trying too hard, and didn't have the right team to do the job.
England should be ok tonight but it depends on how much impact Suarez can have on Uruguay.
Could be an interesting couple of weeks!

I think a tactical foul is needed on Suarez tbh nice tap to that knee he had surgery on should do the trick if you ask me lol

Well that was painful, we had no midfield and all focus was on Rooney, which was ok as he played very well, but people were expecting him to have a massive impact which he did not have .
Best players for England, Rooney, due to the Chances he created and that header that nearly went in and Gerrard as he played some great balls and seemed to be playing every position for the entire match.
Roy needs to do some serious work for us to even have a small chance.

I think now is when we have to rely on Italy to dominate the group... Also for England to pull out something special against Costa Rica... And your right Roy needs to pull something out the bag... Still live in hope

Think Roy has to totally rethink strategy for the Costa Rica game.
BAMF surely must make a start up front, get some early skirmishes going. Stealthkiller and Puresilver on the two flanks. Defence, lets keep things solid....seansamurai1, blytm, Coz and FENRIZ.
But this is where the battle will be won and lost, in the mix.
Gaffa, ThePope, sniperjesus and ForceGhost will be formidable.
And a superb subs bench....you know who you are!

I think we played well against Uruguay, it's just sometimes one man makes a big difference in a team. And now that we're properly out of the cup, I'm going to be supporting Belgium. Decent team and they're considered a dark horse is this tournament. I wonder what team you guys are supporting now?

Belgium is a good team and are very much the underdog but I recon they have a very good chance of winning it... As long as zee Germans don't win it I'm happy

Isn't there a rematch between England and Uruguay for the ref fixing issue?

Why are we even bothering with Costa Rica? Why not just go home?

I'm guessing I'm one of the few that think that England played well this year... also its to decide what team finishes 1st or 2nd in the group. This is also dependant on the outcome of the Italy vs. Uruguay match.

Bit retrospective this really, (not quite necro though) but, looking a Englands pretty shit performance, isn't it time we had a British team, ?, Wales Scotland and N I, are way too small to ever compete on a world scale, now that football is so global, and if we were to add the talent pool they have, to the England team, it may just be enough to make us a serious world cup contender, the England team badly lacked a true world class, match winner, Bale would have provided that and you could probably say that about Ramsay too, and imagine in previous tournaments adding Giggs, perhaps the worlds best player at the time, to the Robson team of the 90's, would that have made them world cup winners, ?? sadly, we'll never know, and even before that, the impact of a, Strachan, Best or Dalgliesh, on what would have been a true national team, I think we in Britain are far too clannish, there was never even a mention of the Germans keeping sending East and West Germany after re-unification, despite their separate league structures, they go there to win and make sure they give themselves the best chance of doing so and we could learn from that...

"This is my rifle, it's just a toy one, there are many like it, they're toy ones too, without it, i'm £250 better off, without me, it gathers dust in the corner, we're just big boys playing soldiers, lets try and remember that" play fair have fun.
